Our History

The Educational Research Institute of America (ERIA) was incorporated in 1999. The company was founded by Dr. Roger Farr, Chancellor's Professor Emeritus of Education at Indiana University and a former President of the International Reading Association. ERIA grew out of the Center for Innovation in Assessment (CIA), which Professor Farr established and directed for the last 10 years of his 33 years as a faculty member at Indiana University. CIA was one of the largest research and development centers in the Indiana University School of Education.

Professor Farr's interest in continuing his research and development activities after his decision to become an Emeritus Professor in 2000 led to the establishment of ERIA. Kimberly Munroe joined the company soon after and has been a major contributor to its research and development activities.
